Waltham Man Accused of Stabbing Wife to Death

The 51-year-old man was arraigned Wednesday and held pending a bail hearing.

A 51-year-old Waltham man is being accused of stabbing his wife to death at their 204 Clocktower Drive residence, according to NECN.

Julio Resto was arraigned Wednesday afternoon in Waltham District Court on one count of murder and seven counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, according to the news station. He was held until a Tuesday, Jan. 6, bail hearing.

The victim, Gloria Resto, 42, worked at Sapphire Salon at 12 Warren St. in Waltham, according to the Boston Globe. She was a mother of two.

According to 7News, Julio Resto went to the Waltham police station at about 5:20 a.m. Wednesday and was taken into custody after being shot by a beanbag. He had a knife at the station, admitted to the crime and asked police to shoot him, according to NECN.

NECN reports Julio and Gloria Resto had been arguing because Julio did not buy her a Christmas gift and she later told him to move out.
