Over the last two weeks much has been accomplished at the Day Center. All the rough electrical work has been completed and signed off by the city’s electrical inspector. The plumbers are now busy doing the rough plumbing for the bath rooms and kitchen. It won’t be long until we see the sheet rock going up on the walls.
One unexpected problem occurred. The cast iron drain pipe that goes out to the sewer was in tough shape and had to replaced. In addition to the added expense to do this necessary repair, it has delayed the pouring of the new cement for the cellar floor.
On a positive note, Village Bank has joined the growing list of community businesses that are supporting the Day Center with a $5000 contribution.
