Red Sox's Kyle Schwarber Sports Waltham Hawks Shirt After Game
Schwarber has embraced the nickname "Kyle from Waltham" despite being from Middletown, Ohio.

WALTHAM, MA — Boston Red Sox player Kyle Schwarber was seen sporting a Waltham Hawks shirt after hitting a grand slam at Game 3 of the ALCS against the Houston Astros Monday night.
Although he grew up in Middletown, Ohio, Schwarber has embraced his new nickname, "Kyle from Waltham," which was first used by Jared Carrabis of Barstool Sports on his "Section 10" podcast.
"Kyle from Waltham living out his dream of mashing grand slams in the postseason for his hometown Red Sox," said Carrabis in a Tweet Monday night.

According to Carrabis, who gifted Schwarber the Waltham Hawks shirt, the nickname came about because Schwarber could pass as a local after less than three months in the Boston area.
"I guess Middletown is not a real place anymore," said Schwarber at a post-game press conference.
