Riverfest Comes To Waltham This Weekend

Here's what to expect at the ninth annual Riverfest in Waltham this weekend.

WALTHAM, MA — Some wait all year for this: Waltham's Riverfest. For the past nine years this free annual weekend festival takes over Moody Street with music, art, food and even a pet parade along the Charles River.

Starting Friday evening there's a discounted padding and a moon-lit guided canoe ride with Charles River Canoe and Kayak and look for three live bands playing outside Margaritas at 211 Moody Street.

Riverfest Schedule of events:

Friday Night June 16

6:15 pm - 9 pm - Live Music Schedule: Music at Margaritas Outdoor Stage, 211 Moody Street
7 pm Moonlight Canoe Tour – Make a Reservation (limited space available) 25% off all canoe, kayak, and Stand-up Paddleboard rentals - Charles River Canoe and Kayak

Saturday, June 17

10 am - Waltham Land Trust River Walk – Easy One Hour Guided Walk- Meet at Landry Park near Moody Street Dam.

10 am Intro to Stand-Up Paddleboard Class - Charles River Canoe and Kayak

10:30 am - (All Day) Artists Paint the River (Look for balloons to find the artists)
11 am – PET PARADE

11 am - 5 pm Free 20 minute 10-person Canoe tours on the hour - Charles River Canoe and Kayak

11:15 am - Welcome to Waltham Riverfest by Mayor Jeanette McCarthy, Introduced by Lisa Lorgeree, President, Downtown Waltham Partnership- Margaritas Stage.
11:30 am - 6 pm - Live Music and Performers on 2 Stages: (Please see Music Schedule)
11 am - 5 pm - MakerFaire/Crafters/Vendors/Food Trucks/Kids Activities (Moody St Bridge, Carter St. to Pine St.)
12 - 3 pm Face painting - Charles River Canoe and Kayak

7 pm - Moonlight Canoe Tour
