Rodman CPAs Appoints Judi Nichols as Tax Manager

Rodman CPAs full service tax and accounting firm serving small and mid-sized emerging and established businesses throughout greater Boston

Rodman CPAs, a full service tax and accounting firm serving small and mid-sized emerging and established businesses throughout the greater Boston area, recently hired Judi Nichols, CPA, MST as Tax Manager.

Nichols, who is a native of Beltsville, MD and a resident of Watertown, MA, is a Certified Public Accountant in Massachusetts and Maryland with more than 20 years of public accounting experience. In her new role at Rodman CPAs, Nichols prepares and reviews federal and state income taxes for individuals and businesses, managing multiple clients, budgets and production goals. As part of her tax department responsibilities, Nichols is leading the firm’s newly formed State and Local Tax group (SALT), to respond to client needs in this area on issues such as apportionment, sales and use tax, and other SALT concerns.

Prior to Rodman CPAs, Nichols served as Tax Manager for more than three years at Blum, Shapiro & Company, P.C. of Newton. For four years previous to that, she served as Tax Manager at Hall & Company CPAs of Burlington. In addition to working at a number of New England accounting firms, Nichols' experience includes 10 years working as a Management and Budget Analyst for local government in Maryland.

Nichols holds an Associate of Applied Science degree in Accounting from Prince George's Community College in Largo, MD, and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Maryland. She earned a Master of Public Policy in Financial Management from the University of Maryland College Park, and a Master's degree in Taxation with a certificate in financial planning from Bentley University.

Nichols is a current member of the Massachusetts Society of CPAs (MSCPA), serving on the Women in Accounting committee, and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), and the Watertown-Belmont Chamber of Commerce. She is also a member of the Professional Advisors Network with The Boston Foundation.

Dedicated to giving back to the community, Nichols has volunteered on the Vestry and as audit staff for All Saints' Episcopal Church in Belmont. She also volunteers at Bristol Lodge Soup Kitchen in Waltham once a month, and participates in many of Rodman CPAs' outreach efforts.
