Friends Beyond Boston is a member-led social community group based in Waltham, Massachusetts, dedicated to fostering genuine, in-person connections for adults in their 20s, 30s, 40s+. Established in April 2017, the community brings together residents of Waltham, Newton, and surrounding areas who want to build friendships and a stronger local community through consistent, face-to-face connection. FBB is more than a calendar of events. It is a community that members help shape and build together. Members are encouraged to contribute in whatever ways fit their interests, time, and capacity, whether that's suggesting an event idea, helping at a gathering, volunteering for one of our member roles, or hosting an event themselves with support from the FBB community. There is no expectation that everyone contribute in the same way; the goal is to create a community where people can participate and contribute in ways that work for them. This member-led approach also allows FBB to reach beyond the Waltham area. Members in other parts of Massachusetts can volunteer as Local Leaders, organizing FBB events closer to where they live and helping create community closer to home. Local Leaders take an active role in building connections in their area, while FBB provides the foundation they've already needed to create: an established community, infrastructure, event and communication tools, templates and resources, guidance, and the support of an existing network. Our calendar includes a mix of casual, low-pressure gatherings designed to make meeting people feel natural, including coffee socials, brunches, shared meals, brewery outings, silent reading hours, outdoor activities, and other member-driven events. Hancock United Church Of Christ

Lexington Pops Chorus will hold two free open rehearsals September 8th and 15th
at 7:30 p.m. in Clark Hall at Hancock Church, 1912 Massachusetts Ave. Lexington. We invite new singers to join us in September and January, and we especially welcome new tenors. Auditions are not required, but singers must be able to read music. We sing a wide variety of music, including classical, jazz, blues, folk, gospel, Broadway and more.
Our winter concerts scheduled for Friday evening, January 15th, and Sunday afternoon, January 17th, 2027, will feature Johann Sebastian Bach’s Magnificat in D (BWV 243), A Gershwin Portrait, “Satin Doll”, “Lift Every Voice and Sing”, and other selections. Our spring concerts will be on Friday evening, May 21st, and Sunday afternoon, May 23rd, 2027. We often have guest soloists and additional instrumentalists at our concerts.
Lexington Pops Chorus is in its 45th season and enjoys the enthusiasm of singers from over 20 towns. Maxwell Evrard has been the chorus’s Conductor/Director for four years. John Tarrh has been the Assistant Conductor for 12 years. David Owens, Accompanist, is in his 23rd season with the chorus. Lexington Pops Chorus is a member of The Greater Boston Choral Consortium.

Ephraim Curtis Middle School

On Sunday, September 20th, Sudbury will host our third inaugural <a href="https://kids.pmc.org/sudbury" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Sudbury PMC Kids Bike Ride</a>.&nbsp;Our ride is a 1-mile loop that riders may enjoy as long as they would like. The one mile course is entirely paved and loops through the beautiful residential neighborhoods of historic Sudbury. Parents are welcome to ride with their children but it is not required. If a parent chooses to accompany their child on the bike, we ask that they register as volunteers.&nbsp;
Many kids choose to ride the loop 3-6-12 or even 15 times. We encourage riders to participate as long as they would like. We will have special badges for riders who accomplish 5-8-12 and 15 miles, too! Please indicate at registration an estimate of your rider's total distance (this will help us for event organization).&nbsp;There is also an enclosed parking lot loop all starting from Curtis Middle School in Sudbury, MA. (Adults may opt to register as volunteers if they would like to ride with the kids). Before the ride there will be music and bike decorating; during the ride and following there will be an Ice-Cream Truck, Food Truck, Coffee Truck, huge bouncy castle, lawn games, music and more. All registered riders will get a free ice cream from our friends at Trombetta’s Farm Ice Cream. Registration takes place from 8:30am-9:45am. The ride is from 10:00am-11:30am, and food and games will be available from 10:00am - 1:00pm.
“The Pan-Mass Challenge is a Massachusetts-based bike-a-thon that raises more money for charity than any other single athletic fundraising event in the country. Always held the first weekend in August, the PMC raises funds for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, a world leader in adult and pediatric cancer treatment and research. Each summer, thousands of riders and volunteers from 43 states and 12 countries participate in the PMC, all with a common goal: to find a cure for cancer.
100 percent of all rider-raised funds go directly to cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber and the Jimmy Fund. The PMC is Dana-Farber’s single largest supporter and is 62 percent of the Jimmy Fund’s annual revenue. Since 1980, the PMC has raised $972 million for Dana-Farber.”
The Sudbury PMC Kids Bike Ride empowers young participants to contribute to a meaningful cause while enjoying a fun activity. By offering multiple course options, every child will have the opportunity to participate and make a difference - regardless of age or ability. Each ride distance is carefully planned to be safe and enjoyable, with designated routes through historic Sudbury neighborhoods that are well-marked and closely monitored by volunteers. For the youngest participants, the tot lot loop provides a secure environment where kids can ride in a contained area - strollers, scooters, tricycles are ALL welcome!
Beyond the joy of bike riding, the Sudbury PMC Kids Bike Ride serves as a powerful educational experience for children, teaching them about the impact of collective efforts in fighting cancer. As they pedal for a purpose, they learn about empathy, community involvement, and the importance of supporting breakthroughs in treatment and cures at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. This event not only raises crucial funds for cancer research but also instills valuable life lessons in the young riders; collectively we all pedal towards a more cancer-free future. As with all PMC rides, every penny donated goes directly to cancer treatment and research at Dana-Farber.
