Snow Prompts Waltham Public Schools Early Dismissal, Sort Of
As the snow hits the city officials say students may get a bit of an early dismissal.

WALTHAM, MA —It's only 20 minutes but it makes all the difference, right? Waltham High School Students are getting out of school a whole 20 minutes early to give the school buses extra time to do their thing. After school and evening activities are also cancelled at Waltham Public Schools on account of the snow, but School Committee members are still scheduled to meet.
In order to keep buses running on time, the district will start high school dismissal at 1:40 p.m. (20 minutes earlier than normal). The idea is that this will provide a bit more travel time for the buses, the district announced Wednesday afternoon.
"It is our hope that by the time the buses get to the elementary runs they will be at normal dismissal time," reads an announcement sent out via email and Twitter. "However, it is possible that dismissal could happen 10 to 15 minutes earlier than normal for middle and elementary schools."
