Squirrel Causes Mass Outages in Waltham, Watertown
More than 4,000 people lost power Thursday morning.
A squirrel was the cause of mass power outages in Waltham and Watertown Thursday morning, a spokesperson for Eversource Energy told Patch.
Eversource Massachusetts spokesperson Rhiannon D'Angelo said in an email more than 4,000 customers were without power after a squirrel came into contact with the company's electrical equipment shortly after 11:30 a.m. on Thursday.
Much of the power was restored by 12:30 p.m., D'Angelo said.
