Drivers in the area are asked to seek alternate routes.

WALTHAM, MA - The city will begin storm drain improvements on Weston and Vernon streets the week of May 9.

The Cabot, Vernon and Weston Streets Stormdrain Improvements Project is aimed at quelling severe flooding when it rains in the area, specifically on Cabot Street.

According to a post on the Waltham city website, the project proposes replacing about 670 ft. of main drain pipes and approximately 325 feet of catch basin lateral pipes in the area. A large diameter drain manhole and double grate catch basin are also included in the contract.
