Scouts BSA Troop 248, chartered at the First Baptist Church, is celebrating their newest Eagle Scout. Rex Schraeder successfully passed a Board of Review at the end of January 2020, and joins his older brother Max as Eagle Scouts.

Proud mother Susan Schraeder has been a member of the Troop 248 family throughout her scouts' tenure, starting at the beginning as Cubmaster of Pack 274 where Max and Rex started their scouting careers.

Rex's project benefits many pet owners in Waltham; on very short notice he put together a work crew and built numerous obstacles and exercises to greatly improve the somewhat dilapidated Waltham City Dog Ranch off the Metropolitan Parkway in North Waltham.

Rex is the second scout to earn Eagle in Troop 248 this season; a celebration and "Double Eagle" ceremony is being planned for early June of this year.
