Boy Scout Troop 250 once again had their annual Snow Shoe trip to Cannon Mountain to the AMC Hut at Lonesome Lake during the weekend of 2/16. This trip is in conjunction with members of Waltham Troop 248 and Quincy Troop 42.
The Scouts bring all of their food for three days in their packs and the bunk areas are not heated so the Hikers must be prepared with the proper sleeping bags and cold weather gear. Cannon Mountain, the Cannon Balls, and North and South Kinsman are peak options for day hikes and on this trip, several hiked Cannon on Sunday. And the views did not disappoint.
All eat very well on these trips with Beef Stew, fresh bread, Creme Brulee, onion soup, eggs and much much more. Everything they need has to be packed in and what they do not use must go down the mountain with them including trash.

Once again the weather cooperated with cold and snow, snow makes a Snow Shoe trip just that much easier.
