Unleash Your Pet's Inner Beast: BluePearl Hosts Pet Costume Contest

Pets throughout the country will compete for prizes and charity in the third annual BluePearl Veterinary Partners Beastly Costume Contest.

There is a BluePearl Veterinary Partner located in Waltham.

This nationwide contest is scheduled to run from Oct. 1 through Oct. 27. To enter, participants must upload a photo of their cat or dog in a costume to the BluePearl Facebook site.

Visitors to the site are encouraged to vote for their favorites. The five photos to receive the most votes will become finalists, so participants are encouraged to have their Facebook friends and family vote for their pet. A winner from the finalists will be selected by judges from BluePearl and will be announced on Oct. 30.

The event is more than just an excuse to see pets dressed up in their spooktacular finery, said the announcement. For every vote, BluePearl Veterinary Partners has pledged to donate $1 (up to $5,000) to Frankie’s Friends, a charity that provides financial assistance to pets whose families are unable to afford lifesaving specialty or emergency treatment.

The winners will receive gift cards to American Express. First place is $150, second place is $100 and third place is $50.
