Waltham Hosting Vietnam Veterans Ceremony Today

Here's a look at ceremonies at the Vietnam Veterans Moving Wall throughout the week.

WALTHAM, MA – The Vietnam Veterans Moving Wall arrived in Waltham this week and will be on display from Wednesday to Monday.

The half-sized replica of the Washington, D.C. monument was escorted to the Grove Street entrance of Gore Place by motorcycles.

Volunteers set up the wall Thursday morning, and it is be available for viewing 24 hours a day until Monday.

In addition, the city is in the midst of hosting four ceremonies to honor those who served in Vietnam, including today's for all Vietnam Veterans:

• Thursday, August 11: Dedicated to those Killed in Action and Gold Star Families, 7 p.m.
• Friday, August 12: Dedicated to MIAs, POWs and Their Families, 7 p.m.
• Saturday, August 13: In Honor of All Vietnam Veterans, 2 p.m.
• Sunday, August 14: In Honor of Our Active Duty Military (flyover), 2 p.m.

There will be several ground exhibits at the wall, including vehicles, a helicopter, documents from the Vietnam era and a photograph and art exhibit, titled "The Other Side of the Wall."

In an announcement, Vietnam veteran and chairman of The Moving Wall Committee Joe Giordano said, "The Committee has worked very hard over the past year to bring the Moving Wall to Waltham and we hope that individuals and families from across the State will take time to visit and honor our veterans, especially those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom."
