Volunteers Needed for Rock Into Recovery Festival

The festival and 5K run/walk is planned for Sept. 26 in Waltham.

The Edinburg Center is holding its Sixth Annual Rock Into Recovery Festival and Second Annual 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, Sept. 26.

This 5K kicks off at Waltham Common at 10 a.m., with the Rock Into Recovery Festival beginning at 11 a.m. and continuing through 3 p.m.

The also includes live music, food, crafts, children’s activities and information and resources.

“The Edinburg Center provides a continuum of innovative services that promote personal growth and independence, foster hope and enhance the quality of life of people with mental health conditions, co-occurring substance use conditions and/or developmental disabilities,” according to an announcement. “With major program sites in Lexington and Waltham, The Center employs over 360 staff who provide a range of services to over 2000 individuals each year in twenty communities west of Boston and throughout Massachusetts.”

This major event needs reliable volunteers, which include safety route monitors, registration helpers, finish line cheerers, assistance at the medical tent, setup and breakdown, and more. Volunteer opportunities are available in Waltham and Lexington.
