Waltham Artist Featured In 2021 CraftBoston Holiday Online
Ceramist Melissa Bland's artwork will be available for purchase during the virtual event.

WALTHAM, MA — A Waltham artist will have her work featured at this year's CraftBoston Holiday, the Northeast's premier juried craft show.
Melissa Bland, a Waltham ceramist who received a BFA in Painting from Rhode Island School of Design in 199, creates functional, wheel-thrown pottery in dark stoneware with a focus on surface pattern and texture. In many of her pieces, the pattern devolves, either fragmenting or terminating awkwardly.
Bland's ceramics have been exhibited throughout the United States, including Strictly Functional and State of Clay juried exhibitions. Her ceramic jewelry has been published by Lark Crafts.

The 2021 CraftBoston Holiday, presented by Boston's Society of Arts + Crafts, will remain completely virtual yet still offer plenty of one-of-a-kind and limited edition gifts. This year's show will run longer than ever before, opening November 12 and closing after January 30.
"By providing access to a well-respected destination show like ours, without the costs of booth rental, travel and lodging, CraftBoston Holiday offers artists an incredible opportunity to showcase their work to a nationwide audience without the overhead an in-person event requires," said Bridgitte Martin, Executive Director of Boston's Society of Arts + Crafts, in a statement. "As a result, we provide a supportive platform for a wider variety of artists to reach buyers and tell their stories."
