Waltham Bank Of America Branch To Close This Fall

The branch on Moody Street is slated to close in November.

WALTHAM, MA — Whether you use it as a shortcut to get back on Moody when leaving the 7-11 or Dunkin Donuts, or you use it for its convenient drive up ATM or you just do your main banking there: The Bank of America financial center at 625 Moody Street is closing this fall.

The announcement came in the form of an email to customers who set the Moody Street Bank of America location as their primary banking spot on Aug. 17.

"On 11/27/2018, the financial center at 625 Moody Street, Waltham, MA is closing," it announces in bright red across the top.

The email didn't give a reason and representatives did not immediately return request for comment. But we'll update when they do.

Folks took to Facebook group "Bring Retail to Waltham" to express disappointment at the bank's closing and others to comment on the service of the bank.

That leaves just one branch for Waltham a bank and ATM at 880 Main St. listed on the Bank of America webpage locations, though there is still the one on Lexington Street, too. There are at least three other ATMs: one at 248 Moody, an ATM at 475 Beaver Street and then an ATM at 578 South St.

Before it was a Bank of America, the location was a Hometown Cooperative Bank.

Bank of America serves approximately 67 million consumer and small business clients with approximately 4,400 retail financial centers, including more than 1,700 lending centers, more than 1,900 Merrill Edge investment centers and more than 1,300 business centers, according to its website. It has approximately 16,100 ATMs; and some 36 million active digital banking users, including 25 million mobile users.
