Waltham Break-In Suspect Pursued by Homeowner: Report

WALTHAM, MA – A homeowner on Cedar Street chased a 23-year-old man down last week after he was reportedly spotted inside a neighbor's car.

According to the Waltham News Tribune, a man and his wife saw someone in their neighbor's car around 12:18 a.m. last Wednesday.

The man went to confront the suspect, identified as Matthew Nutile, who sprinted down the street. During the chase, Nutile allegedly punched the man in the face, but he was uninjured, the News Tribune reported.

Meanwhile, the man's wife and neighbor called 911, and the man was able to restrain Nutile until police arrived, according to the News Tribune.

Nutile was charged with breaking and entering nighttime for a felony, assault and battery and receiving stolen property over $250.
