Waltham Company Sponsors, Supports Translators Without Borders

Lionbridge Technologies becomes the first Diamond Sponsor of Translators Without Borders.

Lionbridge Technologies in Waltham announced on Monday that its become the first Diamond Sponsor of Translators Without Borders, known as the world’s leading nonprofit translation organization.

According to a press release, in the four years since its incorporation as a US-based charity, Translators Without Borders has risen to become the leading advocate for translation and language as important tools in development and crisis. More than eight million words a year are translated by TWB as part of humanitarian development. It helps people respond immediately to crises around the world.

“From the very start, Lionbridge has been a leader in helping us increase access to knowledge around the world and advocate for translation as a strategic humanitarian tool,” said Andrew Bredenkamp, board chair of Translators without Borders, in a statement. “We are thrilled that they are taking the step to greater support, setting an example for others in the industry.”
