Waltham Cultural Council Awards Nearly $40K To 40 Organizations

WALTHAM, MA — Grants have been awarded by the Waltham Cultural Council for 2023, which includes 40 local organizations receiving funds, the city announced.

In total, 62 applications were received by the council, and the 40 winners will receive grants totaling $39,966, officials said.

According to town officials, the Waltham Cultural Council is part of a network of 329 Local Cultural Councils serving all 351 cities and towns in the Commonwealth.

The state legislature provides an annual appropriation to the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency, which then allocates funds to each community. Decisions about which activities to support are made at the community level by the members of the Waltham Cultural Council, officials said.
