Domenic’s Italian Bakery & Deli was recently featured on a Phantom Gourmet segment, “Boston’s Best Sandwiches” (see below).
The eatery, at 987 Main St. in Waltham, “really takes Italian sandwiches to a much higher level,” according to co-host Dan Andelman.

“Sacred ground for fans of the sandwich … it is like the best bread you’re ever going to have in your life,” his brother, co-host Dave Andelman, adds.
Dave Andelman recommends the meatball sandwich (made with square meatballs so they don’t fall out). He said the Parma sandwich (pictured above), with Parma ham, basil marinated tomatoes and fresh mozzarella is also popular.
