Waltham Elementary School Principal Retiring

Plympton School Principal Maureen Taddeo will retire in September. WPS is accepting applications for her successor.

WALTHAM, MA – Plympton Elementary School Principal Maureen Taddeo has announced she will retire in the fall, and Waltham Public Schools is seeking someone to take the reins once she's gone.

Taddeo will retire Sept. 30, Waltham Superintendent of Schools Drew Echelson said in an email. WPS posted a job opening in January for applicants interested in succeeding her.

Candidates must have a Master's degree from an accredited college or university, certification as a principal or assistant principal by the state, demonstrated competency in elementary administration and at least nine years of experience in the field of public education, including administration and teaching.

The principal is responsible for planning, curriculum development, program evaluation, extracurricular activities, personnel management, financial management and more.

The deadline to apply is Feb. 15.
