Waltham Fire Department To Hold Open House
October 13, there will be pizza and a chance for the little ones to climb up into the fire trucks.

WALTHAM, MA — Looking for something to do with the kids this month? The Waltham Fire Department is opening the bay doors for a free open house complete with tips on stop drop and roll, coloring, a chance to get inside a real fire truck - and pizza.
Papa Gino’s is sponsoring the open house set for Oct. 13 with the goal of teaching families fire safety and prevention practices in honor of National Fire Safety Month.
“This event allows us to reach out to the community and arm local families with fire safety tips and procedures,” said Lt. Garry Jackson in a statement. “Our open house allows families to get together and better prepares them to react if a fire does start.”

Kids will receive safety tips such as “stop, drop and roll” and learn how to plan escape routes and how to crawl safely through a smoke-filled room. Young visitors will meet "Sparky" and have a chance to climb up into and sit inside the trucks.
This is the 25th year that Papa Gino’s has sponsored the fire safety open houses throughout New England to encourage families to learn about fire safety.
