Waltham Forming Superintendent Search Committee, Timeline Established
The School Committee seeks community members to join the Superintendent Search Committee, hoping to have a final decision by Dec. 2.

WALTHAM, MA — The process to replace former Waltham Superintendent Brian Reagan is getting rolling, the district announced this week.
Waltham's School Committee is establishing a Superintendent Search Committee to find Reagan's replacement, hoping to have a decision made on the district's next leader by Dec. 6.
The committee will consist of:

- Three School Committee members
- Two Waltham school administrators
- Three public school faculty members
- Three public school parents
- One special education representative
- One English language learner representative
- Two community members at large (students will be considered)
That committee is set to hold an orientation meeting on Oct. 19. Candidates for the committee will also participate in a confidential screening of candidate applications, develop interview questions, conduct interviews with candidates and make recommendations to the School Committee.
Officials have also developed a timeline for the search, which includes interviews being conducted starting in November, with finalists announced by Nov. 19.

Finalist interviews would happen at the end of November and site visits would take place during the first week of December.
A final decision is currently set for Dec. 6.
This comes after former Superintendent Reagan accepted the same role in Hudson. Reagan had served as Waltham's superintendent since 2020.
