Waltham High School Names Next Principal
Darrell Braggs earned a three-year contract with the district, which removes the interim tag he's held since August.
WALTHAM, MA — Don't call Darrell Braggs Waltham High School's interim principal anymore. It's just principal now.
The district announced that Braggs, after serving in the interim role since August, earned a three-year contract to become the school's next principal.
This contract will keep him in the role through at least June 30, 2026, and begins on July 1.

"When Braggs stepped in as interim, he did so with enthusiasm," said Superintendent Brain Reagan.
"Thanks to his hard work and commitment to the school, we had a strong start to the year that created momentum that continues today."

Braggs also had the support of high school staff members, according to the district.
Reagan held a voluntary faculty forum before making his final decision on the appointment. That forum was attended by about 50 staffers, who gave Braggs "overwhelmingly positive" feedback, Reagan said, in a statement.
A survey was also sent to parents, staff and students seeking feedback on Braggs' leadership in the school, which echoed the results of the forum, the district said.
Braggs, a Waltham resident, has served as an associate principal in Waltham since 2017. Before coming to Waltham, he taught history at Framingham High School for 11 years.
