Waltham High Students Plan 'Afternoon of Unity' to Support Immigrant Community

The demonstration takes place Sunday afternoon at the Waltham Common.

WALTHAM, MA – Students at Waltham High School are the latest residents to join the outpouring of support for Waltham's immigrant community in the months following President Trump's executive orders.

Last month, local advocacy group Waltham Concerned Citizens held a series of vigils rallying against the president's policies and a petition circulated pushing Waltham officials to do more to protect its immigrant population.

Now, Waltham High School students will hold a rally of their own this Sunday. The "Afternoon of Unity" will take place March 12 from 3-5 p.m. The demonstration will include students sharing stories of their experiences in Waltham.
