Waltham Honored For Financial Reporting In 2021
The Government Finance Officers Association honored the city for its commitment to clarity and transparency, officials said.
WALTHAM, MA — The Government Finance Officers Association has awarded a certificate of achievement to the City of Waltham for its 2021 financial reporting, city officials said.
Waltham received the certificate for excellence in financial reporting for their Fiscal Year 2021 reporting, according to a news release.
"The report has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive 'spirit of full disclosure' to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the report," the release said.

According to the organization, the certificate is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting.
Waltham uses the platform OpenGov in an effort to have financial transparency that residents can use, according to city officials.
