Waltham Islamic Center Moving to Moody Street?

The Waltham Islamic Society is looking to move to a Moody Street, according to its website and a WCAC-TV report.

The society plans to buy the site of bar which recently closed after losing its business to a foreclosure auction in May, according to WCAC-TV. WIS officials tell WCAC-TV they plan to finalize the purchase of the property on July 1. 

The WIS is currently based out of 16 Park Place, where it has been for 12 years, according to WCAC-TV.

A WIS board member tells WCAC-TV that its current place of worship does not suit their needs. 

So far, the WIS has raised $450,000 to buy the building and ios seeking an additional $65,000, according to its website.
