Waltham Man Charged With Throwing Bottle, Ramming Car, Spitting During Road Rage In Newton
A man allegedly tailed a woman in Newton, threw a bottle at her, and spit in her face. Have you ever been a victim of road rage?

A Waltham man is facing several charges stemming from an alleged road rage incident that happened in Newton, where the man faces charges of throwing a bottle, spitting, ramming into a car and leaving the scene.
On Monday, May 4, police responded to Washington Street westbound after several witnesses called about a possible road rage incident.
When police got to the scene, one driver was visibly upset and shaking and crying. She said she was traveling west on Washington Street and was in the right lane, came to a stop at the intersection of Washington Street and Auburn Street for a red light, and the operator (later identified as Edward Blakely, Jr., of Waltham) of a silver pickup truck pulled up next to her.

He started screaming at her, she reported, and then threw a bottle at her through her open window, and the bottle struck her face. The woman said she was shocked and frightened, rolled her window up and attempted to drive away.
Blakely reportedly pulled in front of her, straddling the lanes, and started to tailgate her. When she stopped for the red light on Washington Street at Commonwealth Ave., the pickup truck driver deliberately rammed into the back of her, she said. The woman said she called police and got out of her car when Blakely jumped out of his truck and ran toward her screaming and telling her to move her car.

When she told him she was calling police, he said, “What’s your problem?” and reared back, split phlegm and saliva in her face and said “That’s my problem.”
Blakely then reported got back in his truck, rammed her car again, and drive up onto the sidewalk and fled. During the confrontation, dispatch received several calls from witnesses. A request for an immediate threat license suspension was faxed to the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles, with a warrant issued out of Newton District Court.
Waltham police apprehended Blakely in Waltham.
