Waltham Man Killed In Sharon Highway Crash

SHARON, MA — A Waltham man was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 northbound in the area of Exit 9 in Sharon Saturday afternoon.

Massachusetts State Police said an investigation determined that a Christopher Smith, 54, was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado that struck a guardrail and went off the highway before hitting a tree.

Sharon fire and EMS responded at about 3:30 p.m. and Smith was pronounced dead at the scene.

Smith was the lone occupant in the truck.

Exit 9 was closed on Saturday afternoon with traffic being diverted onto Route 1.
