Waltham Man Wanted For Murder In May 2023 Shooting

The Middlesex District Attorney's Office has charged a 21-year-old Waltham man with murder in the killing of Shelson Jules.

WALTHAM, MA — A 21-year-old Waltham man is wanted for the May 2023 murder of Shelson Jules in Waltham, the Middlesex District Attorney announced.

Waltham police are actively seeking Josh Pierre, 21, of Waltham, in connection with the fatal shooting of Shelson Jules. He is officially charged with murder and possession of a firearm.

Police responded to a shooting on May 22 on Lyman Street in the area of Faneuil Road in Waltham around 1:30 a.m.

Following the shooting, investigators determined that Pierre and other individuals were in a vehicle together when they traveled to Waltham to meet the victim, officials said. After a brief exchange, Pierre allegedly fired several shots fatally striking the victim twice from behind before fleeing the scene.

Officials said that Josh Pierre is described as a black male, standing 5’ 4” tall with black hair, brown eyes, and weighing approximately 150 pounds. He was last seen in a 2016 silver Honda Accord with MA Registration 2XGH85.

Pierre should be considered armed and dangerous and residents should not approach him and should immediately call the police, officials said.

Another Waltham man who was allegedly in the car at the time of the shooting has been arrested.

Strawensky Cebeat, 21, of Waltham on charges of accessory after the fact to murder and withholding evidence from a criminal proceeding.

He was arraigned this morning in Waltham District Court and held in lieu of posting $50,000 cash bail, plus other conditions of pretrial release.
