Waltham McDevitt Middle School Locks In Next Principal
Scott Lipman has served in the interim role since August 2022 and will remain with the school on a permanent basis.
WALTHAM, MA — McDevitt Middle School's next principal will also be McDevitt Middle School's current principal. Well, the interim.
Scott Lipman has been serving as the interim principal at McDevitt since August 2022. This week, he signed a three-year contract to make him the permanent principal through at least June 30, 2026.
The appointment is effective as of July 1.

Superintendent Brian Reagan described Lipman as an "instructional leader with the skills necessary to provide support and guidance to educators as they seek to enhance and improve their practice."
Survey and forum results, which gained opinions from parents and staff, were positive.

Common themes in the survey centered around Lipman as a unifying figure at the middle school, and his ability to be a strong but flexible leader.
He was described as "personable, professional, welcoming, accessible and respectful," according to Reagan.
