Waltham Nonprofit To Host 'Footsteps for Family Building' Walk

The event will take place Sunday, September 26 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Endicott Estate in Dedham.

WALTHAM, MA — Resolve New England (RNE), a Waltham-based nonprofit dedicated to those struggling with fertility and family building, is hosting a Footsteps for Family Building Walk on Sunday, September 26 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.

The event, which will take place at Endicott Estate in Dedham, will welcome hundreds of individuals, couples, and families from across New England to raise funds for and awareness of those struggling to grow their families.

“The core of the RNE mission is to ensure that no one walks alone while struggling with fertility or family building,” said RNE Executive Director Kate Weldon LeBlanc in a statement. “So, it is very impactful to have hundreds of participants walking together to not only symbolize this but also to provide hope and support for each other.”

Kerry Kavanaugh, Anchor and Investigative Reporter for Boston 25 News who has struggled with infertility in the past, will once again serve as the event’s emcee.

“I am honored to be part of the RNE Walk with my family," said Kavanaugh. "RNE often talks about the importance of ‘finding your people’ who can relate to the struggles you are facing or have endured. These are my people."

According to RNE, over 800,000 individuals in New England are experiencing family building challenges, including infertility to pregnancy loss. RNE hosts free, online support groups that are open to help these families and hosts one of the country’s largest family building conferences each year.

“We are so grateful to all the sponsors and donors who have supported Footsteps for Family Building, with particular thanks to our Champion sponsors, Boston IVF, EMD Serono and Ferring Pharmaceuticals," said LeBlanc. "The funds raised by this Walk support all RNE’s services, as well as our advocacy to improve access to fertility care and family building throughout New England."
