Waltham Police: Increase in Coyote Sightings
Waltham police are warning residents that they've received an increase in reported coyote sightings in the city.

“Recently we have seen an increase in sightings of coyotes throughout the City of Waltham,” Waltham Police posted on its Facebook page.
The Massachusetts Division of Fisheries and Wildlife provides this guide on living with coyotes in eastern Massachusetts. Tips include keeping your pets safely inside, securing your garbage, cleaning your bird feeders and a lot more.

Waltham PD reminds residents that coyotes are wild animals and you should never feed them. “This only encourages them to venture closer to people. Attacks on people by coyotes are extremely rare and highly unlikely to occur.”
However, if you observe one that appears sick or acting odd, call the police at 781-314-3600.
