Waltham Police Upping Patrols On Charles River Paths
Four departments with walking paths along the Charles River plan to increase patrols this summer, hoping to heighten safety.

WALTHAM, MA — Waltham residents and visitors looking for a walk may see increased traffic if their route is along the Charles River.
The Waltham Police Department, along with the Newton police, Watertown police and Massachusetts State Police, will increase patrols on paths along the Charles River this summer.
These departments "will be working together in an effort to make sure our community members feel safe on the paths along the Charles River," officials said.

"You may see officers and clinicians from each of our departments teaming up and patrolling the river walk on foot, on bicycles, or on all-terrain vehicles," Waltham police said. "We will be there to keep people safe, feel comfortable walking this area, and helping those who may be in need of assistance by getting the help they need."
