Waltham Police Welcome 3 New Officers
Officers Mark DeBernardi, Brianna Florio, and Vilay "PJ" Saengsombat were sworn in at a ceremony at City Hall.

WALTHAM, MA — The Waltham police force is expanding after a swearing-in ceremony last weekend.
Waltham police officials welcomed three new officers on Wednesday. Officers Mark DeBernardi, Brianna Florio, and Vilay “PJ” Saengsombat were sworn in at a ceremony at City Hall.
"This group of officers is unique in that they are all joining us with prior policing experience under their respective belts," police officials said.

DeBernardi graduated from the MBTA Academy’s 39th MPOC in 2017 and has since served as a police officer in Wellesley, police said. He also served in the US Marine Corps.
Florio graduated from the NECC Academy’s 2020-01 ROC and has worked as a police officer at Tufts University since 2020.

Officer Saengsombat graduated from the Plymouth Academy’s 71st ROC in 2022 and has since served as a police officer in Attleboro.
