Waltham Riverfest Comes to Town

Check out all the free and fun activities happening along Moody Street at the Charles River this Saturday!

The Tenth Annual Waltham Riverfest will take place June 15th and 16th. Waltham Riverfest is a free celebration of the wonderful resources, both natural and artistic, that run through the heart of Waltham. Hundreds of residents and visitors will come to the Moody Street Bridge for music, dancing, painting, strolling, shopping, eating, and boating. Three bands will play Friday night from 6:15 – 9 pm outside of Margaritas to kick off the festival (the only Friday activity other than a moonlit paddle offered by Charles River Canoe and Kayak). Many musicians of different genres will perform on two stages the next day from 11:15 am to 7 pm. Other entertainment on Saturday includes a parade at 11:45 am, belly dancers, a maker’s faire, and free art activities for the whole family. People of all ages can get dressed up in animal puppets of various shapes and sizes and join in the parade and throughout the day at Riverfest. Moody Street will be closed to traffic from Pine Street to the railroad tracks so that attendees can easily stroll through the area checking out non-profit outreach tables, crafters, vendors and food trucks. The Waltham Land Trust will lead a nature and history walk along the Charles from 3-4:30. Charles River Canoe and Kayak will offer discounted watercraft rentals throughout the day.
