Waltham Schools To Host Parenting Awareness Conference
The fourth annual event features discussions on topics ranging from health and wellness to career exploration and screen time.
WALTHAM, MA — Kennedy Middle School is set to host the fourth annual Parenting Awareness Conference this weekend in Waltham.
The event features two workshop sessions with discussions ranging from career exploration to health and wellness and managing screen time.
This year's conference is scheduled for Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the 655 Lexington St. school.

The 2023 keynote speaker is Dr. Jennifer L. DelRey, Staff Psychologist, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and Associate Director of The Resilience Project at Newton Wellesley Hospital.
Registration begins at 8 a.m. followed by a speech from DelRey.

There is a morning session beginning at 9:15 a.m. and a late morning session beginning at 11 a.m.
Workshop sessions will include "Your Child and Screen Time", a parent panel focusing on a sense of belonging and "Addressing Family Stress".
Recently confirmed sessions also include "Navigating Grief and Loss", "Career Exploration and Training", "Apoyando a los recién llegados en WPS" or "Supporting Newcomers in Waltham Public Schools" and a session led by Waltham Fields Community Farm on gardening and nutrition.
The day will also include breakfast, lunch, child care and Spanish, Haitian Creole, Portuguese and ASL interpretation.
