Waltham Schools Welcome New Administrator of Educational Technology Integration

This school season, Waltham schools welcome a new administrator.

This school season, Waltham schools welcome several new administrators, including Dr. Elizabeth Homan, the new administrator of educational technology integration.

Homan is originally from the Midwest, where she developed a passion for teaching with technology during her years as a secondary English Language Arts and Communications teacher, a pre-service teacher mentor, and a college composition and disciplinary literacy instructor, said an announcement from Waltham schools.

She is a graduate of The University of Illinois (BA), Purdue University’s Graduate College of Education (MS-Curriculum & Instruction), and The University of Michigan’s Rackham Graduate School of Education, where she earned her PhD studying teachers’ social learning networks and integration of digital technologies into classroom practice. While finishing her dissertation, Elizabeth moved to Boston, where she worked as a Digital Learning Specialist for Boston Public Schools.

When she isn’t thinking about technology and teaching, Elizabeth enjoys running along the Charles with her dog Gertrude, cooking, and exploring New England’s parks and trails.
