Waltham Stabbing Suspect Ordered Held Without Bail

Emanual Louis was arraigned Thursday in Waltham District Court; he is charged in the double stabbing on Weston Street Wednesday afternoon.

WALTHAM, MA – The suspect in a double stabbing on Weston Street in Waltham Wednesday afternoon was ordered held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing at his arraignment Thursday.

Emanual Louis, 36, is slated to appear in court August 18 for that hearing. He is charged with armed assault with intent to murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on a person over the age of 60 in connection with the stabbings.

Police were called to a Weston Street residence around 12:56 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a double stabbing. There, officers found a 52-year-old woman suffering from multiple stab wounds and an 83-year-old woman with a laceration in her hand, the Middlesex County District Attorney's office said.

The 52-year-old woman is in critical but stable, condition, according to the DA's office.

Authorities believe the suspect knew the victims and specifically targeted them, the DA's office said. The suspect and victims are not related.

The attack remains under investigation by state police and the Waltham Police Department.
