Waltham Students Get Free Meals After State Budget Signed

Waltham schools officials notified the community of the news, which comes after Gov. Maura Healey signed the state budget this week.

WALTHAM, MA — Waltham school officials are among the stakeholders happy to learn that school meals will be free for students during the upcoming year.

This week, Gov. Maura Healey signed the fiscal 2024 Massachusetts state budget, which includes a provision that all school meals remain free for all students.

This means that breakfast and lunch will continue to be served at no cost to all Waltham students, school officials shared.

Information on back-to-school menus will be posted on the district's website in the next few weeks, officials said.

"As always, we are grateful for the opportunity to provide delicious and nutritious meals to all students," they added.
