Waltham Superintendent Drew Echelson To Resign

The Waltham Channel is reporting Waltham Superintendent Drew Echelson announced his plan to resign at Wednesday's School Committee meeting.

WALTHAM, MA — Waltham Superintendent of Schools Drew Echelson told the School Committee Wednesday night he was resigning. This is a breaking news alert, brought to our attention by the folks at the Waltham cable access channel.

Echelson started working as superintendent in 2015. He has had to deal with redistricting and plans for a new or renovated high school, while spearheading a new dual language program, a new summer program for advanced placement students and diversity efforts.

Echelson was selected in 2014 to replace Susan Nicholson, who retired at the end of the 2015 school year to help raise her grandchild.
