UPDATE Waltham Weather: Severe Thunderstorm Watch, Tornado Warning

Update: The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm watch in the area through 8 p.m., and a tornado watch until 3 p.m.

There is a moderate probability for scattered strong to severe thunderstorms in the region, including Waltham, on Tuesday afternoon and evening.

According to the National Weather Service, in addition to heavy rain and lightning, there is potential for large hail and strong-to-damaging winds.

“Cannot rule out a possible tornado,” states the hazardous weather outlook.

Flooding is also a concern, and the threat continues into the evening hours.
