Ward 4 Councilor McLaughlin To Serve As Council President

Snow couldn't stop Waltham's inauguration day on Sunday, when Councilor John McLaughlin was elected to serve as Council President for 2024.

McLaughlin was first elected in 2013 and served as Vice President during the previous session, also serving as chair for the city's Committee of the Whole.

WALTHAM, MA — Snow could move Waltham's Sunday inauguration day indoors, but it couldn't stop the City Council from getting the ball rolling on the 2024 session.

The first order of business was the council was to choose a President. That distinction now falls to Ward 4 Councilor John McLaughlin.

McLaughlin was nominated by Ward 5 Councilor Joseph LaCava, who, funny enough, was later nominated by McLaughlin to serve as Vice President.
