WALTHAM, MA - Three Waltham police officers were awarded Thursday for their life saving heroism in the field.
The Municipal Police Training Committee recognized officers Robert Afienko, Kevin Duffey and David Richardson for taking action and preventing death in the community they serve.
Duffey was honored for performing CPR on a man in cardiac arrest on October 2. That day he responded to a parked car and found two people frantically trying to get help for a man in the back seat, who was turning blue. After Duffey checked his pulse and began administering CPR, the man regained consciousness. The victim was sent to the hospital, where he made a full recovery.
