Wondering what's happening on the land behind and next to the historic yellow Wellington House on Trapelo Road? Find out and help prepare the fields for use on Sunday, August 15, 2-5 pm! Come later if working in the heat is of concern. Councillor George Darcy and the team from the Waltham Land Trust will explain possible plans for restoration of the mushroom shaped parcel 5.654 acres in size, plus there will be a historical tour of the grounds. We'll have cleanup tasks for all ages and abilities! Volunteers will clear around the parking lot on Trapelo Road and finish clearing a planned walking path around the fields. Work will include removing small stumps, rocks, and branches, as well as pulling invasive plants and weed whacking. Bring water, gloves, shovels, and rakes if you have them and dress appropriately. The Waltham Land Trust will provide some tools. The address of Wellington House lands we're working on is 775 Trapelo Road - Please park on Sherwood Lane, Abbot Road, or Temple Road.
