Wholesale Giant Eyes Waltham for Gas Station: Report

The Linden Plaza station would only be available to BJ's Wholesale Club members.

WALTHAM, MA – A chain of wholesale clubs has proposed bringing a new gas station to Waltham. BJ's is seeking a special permit from the city to open a six-pump station in Linden Plaza, according to the Waltham Channel.

The gas station would require the demolition of the existing gas station, as well as an adjustment to traffic and parking patterns, among other changes, Waltham Channel reported. It would solely be available to BJ's Wholesale Club members.

The plans come on the heels of another wholesale giant, Costco, backing out of plans for an 18-pump station at its Waltham location. Residents are invited to provide feedback on the potential BJ's gas station at a public hearing May 22 at 7:30 p.m. in the City Council chambers.
