The list shows how Wareham stacks up against other SouthCoast programs and what it will take to crack the top 16 and reach the postseason.
• A Magical Fish's Return Makes Hope Seem Realistic (provincetownindependent.org) — Restoration work on Red Brook, which runs through Wareham, is spotlighted in a new book about the comeback of Cape Cod's sea-run brook trout. The story celebrates decades of hands-on river repair by local anglers and conservationists, and invites readers to an Oct. 5 author talk in Wellfleet for anyone interested in how small streams—and hope—are being revived.
• Where Did the SouthCoast No Kings Rallies Go for Oct. 17? (wbsm.com) — Organizers of the "No Kings: Vote Early" movement are scaling back their Massachusetts rallies on October 17, focusing mainly on Boston instead of repeating the many March 28 sites that included Wareham. While Wareham won't host a gathering this time, local residents who joined earlier SouthCoast demonstrations are being urged to travel to Boston or other listed towns to kick off early voting.
