• Watertown Superintendent Plans to Leave at End of School Year (watertownmanews.com) — Watertown families will see a major leadership change next year, as Superintendent Dede Galdston plans to step down after the 2026-27 school year, capping a decade in the district. After helping open the new Watertown High School and welcome staff back, she told the community she'll focus this final year on strengthening schools and ensuring a smooth transition.
   

• State Senate Recount Begins Wednesday (belmontvoice.org) — Watertown voters' recent Democratic primary for state Senate is so close that a district-wide recount will be held Wednesday and Thursday between Sen. William Brownsberger and challenger Daniel Lander. The Suffolk and Middlesex District, which includes Watertown, will see hand-counted ballots and public observation as officials verify a razor-thin 34-vote margin before November's uncontested general election.
