1 Seriously Injured In 2-Vehicle Crash In Wayland
The accident prompted a medical helicopter response and the closure of a local road.
WAYLAND, MA — One person was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash in Wayland on Friday afternoon, prompting a medical helicopter response and the closure of a local road.
Wayland police and firefighters responded to Old Connecticut Path at about 12:38 p.m. Friday, according to a joint announcement from the departments.
First responders arrived to find a sedan and a truck carrying a roll-off container involved in the crash.
The person in the sedan was taken by a Wayland ambulance to a landing zone at Cochituate Ball Field before being flown by a Boston MedFlight helicopter to Boston Medical Center, officials said.
The person’s injuries were believed to be serious. No other injuries were reported at the scene.
Old Connecticut Path remained closed following the crash, according to the Friday announcement. Officials did not immediately say when the road was reopened.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Wayland Police Department with assistance from Massachusetts State Police.
Police have not yet provided an update on the victim’s condition as of Monday morning.
