10 Dates You Need to Know on the Wayland School Calendar

WAYLAND, MA — The 2016-2017 school year is almost here, and while students may be dreading it, the time has come to make preparations for the upcoming school year.

Students are due back in Wayland schools on Wednesday, Aug. 31, across all grades. The return is immediately followed by another break, with no school Friday, Sept. 2, or Monday, Sept. 5 (Labor Day).

Here are ten other important dates on the Wayland public schools calendar that you should be aware of during the first few months of the year.

1. Aug. 30: 9th grade orientation
2. Sept. 14: 9th grade parents' information night
3. Sept. 15: back to school night
4. Sept. 22: senior parents night
5. Sept. 29: underclass pictures
6. Oct. 1: SATs
7. Oct. 3: no school, Rosh Hashanah
8. Oct. 10-12: no school
9. Nov. 11: no school, Veterans' Day
10. Nov. 24-27: Thanksgiving recess (Nov. 23, early release)
